Pacers walk every fortnight and don't stop during term breaks. Meet time at the Willaston Masonic Hall is 9.15 for 9.30. Be aware that on rare occasions you may be the only person to go to the Masonic Hall so be prepared to drive yourself.
Prior to each walk date you will be given details of parking at or near to the start point for each walk and whether there is a charge. All walks are between 5 and 7 miles and are either easy (E) moderate (M) or a combination of the two.
Easy walks are for reasonably fit people with at least a little country walking experience. Walks may include unsurfaced rural paths. Moderate walks for people with country walking experience and a good level of fitness. Walks may also include some steep paths and open country and will be at a reasonable pace.
Walking boots and warm, waterproof clothing are recommended.
Please inform the group leader if you have any health issues which might be relevant to participating in a walking group and which could need consideration when planning or carrying out the walks.
Whilst group leaders plan the walks with your safety in mind, it is advisable for group members to carry an emergency contact number with them and a mobile phone with the leader's number saved in case this should be required. U3A members are not covered by the Third Age Trust policy in respect of any personal accidents they may themselves suffer. However, some household policies may cover personal accident.
