Group reading of various plays for pleasure. No great acting skills are required - just the willingness to read your assigned character's lines aloud.
A lot of the plays that we read are comedies, though we do also read some serious dramas and the occasional thriller too. We borrow the play scripts from the archive of plays held at Storyhouse Library in Chester. My only criteria for choosing a play is that it has the right number of characters in it for everyone in the group to have a part in it and that it is one that I think the group are likely to enjoy.
We read a whole play in each session with a break between acts for tea/coffee and biscuits.
We have had a lot of new members join us since 2021 and they all seem to be enjoying the experience.
Any mobility problems should not be any hindrance to being an active member of this group as we are all seated while reading.
